Making Apple Sauce
Wed. evening Aug. 31
A large group gathered to process apples picked earlier.

First they were washed.

Many people of all ages cut the apples up for cooking.

The SOOP volunteers helping with Ten Thousand Villages helped too.

Both stoves were used to cook the apples.

Hot work, stirring constantly.

Then they were put through food mills.

The sauce rewarmed, the jars warmed and filled.

Boiled in canners for 15 minutes

and set out to cool.
Many hands make light work.
