Earl's Reflections
Our stay was from Oct. 1995 to Mar. 1996
The first two Sunday services were at the Kiwanis building. On the second Sunday after a communion service the whole group moved the pulpit and other things to the new location. Plan B was used since there was rain so vehicles were used instead of walking as pilgrims on a journey. It was a time of changing spirits from a liquor store to a sanctuary where God is central and His Spirit leads and dwells with His people. The theme was "Holy Ground" and each participant felt the warmth.
When Clara and I entered Your Sanctuary for the Rejoice Weekend, we were thrilled at the progress you have made. It is commendable and you have a great facility.
During our 1995/96 stay with you we enjoyed a number of special events. The adult Sunday school group was a time of good discussion and challenges centred on the Word. The two week night Bible study groups were anticipated and enjoyed very much. One met at Donna and Frank Brubacher's home in. The other at Lorene and John Brubacher,s home most of the times.
We were at the Dagenhardt celebration and supper. It was most enjoyable.
We had the privilege to see Albert Butt when he had permission to attend the Church service when He and Debbie were given the special Quilt the church had made for them.
Several times I had the privilege to draw chalk pastel drawings. At the Baptist singing celebration , at your church Christmas time, at the seniors home in Petitcodiac, At the Dorchester Prison where again we met and talked with Albert Butt.
The times with the Youth and visits with each family were enjoyable. There were hospital visits and many conversations with people of the community.
There was the baby dedication for the Metts family. I needed practice with holding infants but it went well. We met the Harper's through the ten thousand villages and had many enjoyable times with them.
The play that Monica Schiefly played in was fun and laughter. There were many enjoyable times planning with the Worship committee and the Council.
Thanks for the celebration on my 70th birthday. All of the families received us warmly. Thanks for the many good times.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
God Bless
Earl and Clara.
